Bryce Canyon National Park - Utah

Page Seven

From the main overlook area there is a trail that climbs along the edge of the cliffs to a higher vantage point. This is not a climb for the weak of heart. But I am feeling pretty good and decide to give it a go. Will decides to simply RUN to the top! Freak! Beth and I opt for the liesurely stroll.

Beth gives out about half way up. Will is already at the top. I start walking very slowly and deliberately, pacing myself. About two thirds of the way up I stop for a short rest. It is not long before other out of shape adventurers join me. Undaunted, I continue to the top. I've come this far, I might as well go all the way and have a look. It is worth it!

Once again you can see the trails. Here they come in from the left and wind in amongst the spires lining this "small" ridge.

Another view looking down from the higher vantage point. I'm not sure if the name "Inspiration Point" actually refers to the higher point, or the combination of the upper and lower vantage points. Nonetheless, the view is magnificant.

  Beth patiently awaits our return.

Do you see the people in this picture? One wrong step and it is a long slippery trip to the bottom! Satisfied with shooting a few rolls of pictures just here in Bryce Canyon, I head back to the bottom to get Beth and be on our way. What an amazing place!
