The Richland Balsam Overlook on the BRP

First things first. I snap a quick shot of the best looking bike in the parking lot ;-)

I just can't get enough of the views out here in North Carolina. This place is amazing. Most of the clouds seen here are sitting lower than the BRP except for a few places where we actually ride right through the clouds. It almost makes me feel like I'm flying hehe.

If you look carefully at the picture on the right, you'll be able to see where the Parkway cuts around the side of the mountains just below the clouds.

It's green and mean. Dave "Bird Dawg" Viosca's Guzzi. However, while I was busy taking picutres, he had a slight tipover, notice the missing foot brake lever? This is the best picture I have of his bike. Getting the exposure right on this odd color is tough!

I decide that I need a few more pics of the scenery, but when I start walking over to the edge of the overlook, there sits my bike looking quite photogenic. I can't help myself.

Once I get past my bike, I'm free to enjoy the awesome view again. I have got to figure out a way to either move here or get more vacation each year.

Another of the many couples that were in attendance this weekend. It is good to see so many couples enjoying biking together. I believe they are from Minneapolis? He mentioned that it was viewing my trip report from last year's Rallye that helped push them over the edge in deciding to attend this year. Cool!

This friendly couple is from Boston. He is the sterotype persona of what you think of when you imagine the Boston accent hehe. I wouldn't kid him about it though, he's ex Marine and built like a tree stump. I spent a good deal of time yakking it up with them in the parking lot... AND I CAN'T REMEMBER THEIR NAMES!! Apparently I shook their hands. I have a disease that makes me instantly forget your name if I shake your hand. So if you ever meet me, try to avoid letting me shake your hand ;-)
