Bryce Canyon National Park - Utah

This is Natural Bridge Overlook. I wonder just how much longer the bridge will last before the thin part of the arch on the right side collapses. What is more interesting is what the Park Service might contemplate if that really becomes an imminent concern? Will they be willing to let nature run its course or will they intervene and try to stabilize the arch in some unobtrusive manner? Imagine the political conflict over this one!

I like this shot because the top of the bridge reminds me of an entrance to a midieval castle.

Check out the flat topped spire on the right side of the picture upon which a large boulder is perched. I also think the exposure in this picture gives a better indication of the actual color of the rock face on the arch.

This would be one of the signs I took a picture of AFTER visiting the overlook. It really makes sorting the pictures later much more difficult when I don't stick to my plan.

Don't even try to get me to tell you what the year, model, slash, stroke, number is on this old BMW. But don't you get the feeling this guy spends a LOT of his time on the road? Right where the jacket is hung over the bike is the small area left for him to sit. Not seen here is the bag of firewood strapped to the other side of the bike. As they say, "Everything but the kitchen sink!"
