The Cherohala Skyway

This is Shute Cove Overlook, Elevation here is 3549 ft. I think the temperature is around 70 degrees F, truly a wonderful day to be riding!

I am trying to get a shot of the road across the gully as it is about to wrap around the next ridge. Can you see the small car about to around the corner?

If you cannot read the sign on the side of the road, it indicates the grade is 9%, pretty steep considering the sharpness of the corners. Imagine doing this in the dark... hehe. The road acted like a big reflecting surface when I took the picture, that is why it is so bright. Bright road, dark trees, a photographer's nightmare.

For some reason I am having a hard time getting a good picture that will give someone a good idea of just what the roads are like in North Carolina. Here you can see the road snaking its way along the top of the ridge.

I have no idea what kind of purple flowers these are, but they smell really good. I have to sit in the grass and kick back for a bit to take it all in.

While I am kicked back relaxing, I keep hearing a peculiar buzzing. It is then that I realize there are Bumble Bees buzzing in and around the flowers. They seem to have little if any interest in me, likely because I don't smell real sweet at this point hehe.

It seems that being the one taking most of the pictures, I am not getting in enough of the pictures. Shane decides to take this opportunity to rectify that situation.

For someone that tries to pretend she is shy, Stephanie seems to come alive when she gets in front of a camera!
