Blue Ridge Parkway - Motorcycle Heaven

This is looking out from one of the many scenic overlooks that dot the Parkway. That notch in the mountaintop across the way is where we just came from a few minutes before.

Beth has not ridden with a passenger yet. Steph wanted a picture of both of us on Beth's bike. She did take Steph around the parking lot some just for fun because Steph is a featherweight.

I thought I was far enough ahead of everyone that I would have time to get my telephoto lens out and get some great shots of them coming out of the corner leaned over. I didn't. As I am getting the camera out of the bag, I hear them coming around one of the ridges heading my direction fast. So I run over to the edge of the road and kneel down and zoom in as far as I can with the 80mm lens. Not quite what I had in mind.

This is Beth. Of course once she sees me and realizes I am stopped, she starts braking hard to make the stop where I am hehe.

This is Shane and Steph. He was not caught so unaware because he saw Beth braking.

This is just another shot showing the road coming over a ridge a few miles back where we had just been riding. You can see that it is a bit hazy, but the temperature is in the low seventies and it is sunny. Perfect.

This is the highest point along the Parkway, 6053 feet. What the heck, it is another excuse to stop and take a picture.
