Scenic Overlook Near the end of The Gap

It seems like the mountains and beautiful scenery go on forever in this area. It makes the thought of going home and riding around Huntsville kind of depressing.

This is the upstream view of the Calderwood Reservoir Dam. It kind of looks like a very miniature version of the Hoover Dam. This is also on the Little Tennessee River. Oddly enough, this river flows in a northwesterly direction. Note the crane on top of the dam on the right side. All of the dams we see have these cranes that run back and forth over the top of the dam on rails. I guess they are used for maintenance.

  Our babies!

Beth complains that I have way too many pictures of my bike and very few of hers. So one of my goals on this trip is to get some good pictures of her bike. It turns out to be harder to get a good picture of her bike than you might think. It always comes out looking more black than green. When you see the bike in person, it is a beautiful shade of metallic green. I must be doing something wrong with the lighting/exposure when I take the picture.

This shot shows the green a little better than most. It seems that lots of ambient light and a flash really helps bring out the green. I still am not real happy with the result.
