The Aderholst Mill, Jacksonville, Alabama.

I was trying to get a shot of the water flue that feeds the wheel. There is a cool stone stair path leading up the hill behind the mill to the reservoir that feeds the chute. Ofcourse, the water actually runs through a large 15" PVC pipe instead of the leaky wood chute. I'm standing on the banks of the large pond where the water overflows after leaving the mill.

This is the right and front side of the mill, also looking from the pond. That big glaring roof makes it hard to get a good exposure for the picture. It hurt my eyes just looking in it's direction.

Another view of the water wheel. When the owner acquired the mill, there was no wheel. He studied pictures of other mills and visited some to get an idea of what he needed to do and then built the wheel himself. It is mostly painted steel. I think the slats of the water troughs are made of wood.

This is the left side of the mill. Here you can see the porch coming out from the basement. The owners live in the basement. The yard around the mill is nicely landscaped and well maintained. The porch is setup with a nice little table. The owner informs me that he and his wife frequently eat breakfast and/or dinner out here. Nice place.
